Successful PFCC Colchester Public Meeting sets stage for next event in Thurrock

Posted on Thursday 7th December

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst chaired a successful and informative event at the PFCC’s Colchester public meeting at Colchester Town Hall on Tuesday night.

Among the topics discussed were anti-social behaviour, the recent uplift in officer numbers and violence toward women and girls.

Mr Hirst was joined on the panel in Colchester by Chief Inspector Colin Cox of Essex Police, Samantha Goodman of Colchester Community Safety Partnership and Group Manager Craig McClellan of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

On Monday 15th January all residents and businesses from across the whole of Thurrock district are invited to find out more about crime and community safety in the district at the next PFCC public meeting.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to put their questions and concerns to a panel including the PFCC, district commander Chief Insp Anthony Atkins of Essex Police and representatives of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Thurrock Council.

The meeting will take place at Tilbury Community Centre, Civic Square, Tilbury, RM18 8AA from 7pm to 8pm.  All residents of Thurrock district are invited.

Roger Hirst said: “Our public meetings are a great way to hear directly from local communities about any concerns they might have or issues they are experiencing.”

“The meetings are also a great opportunity for us to brief residents on how we are working together with a range of partners to achieve the priorities in both our Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.”
