PFCC holds latest public meeting for Rochford residents with Basildon public meeting next week

Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, continued his busy schedule of public meetings, when he visited Rayleigh this week.

Roger was joined by District Commander Ch Insp Paul Hogben of Essex Police, Justin Benson-Ryal, ECFRS Group Manager and Isabelle Hatton of the Rochford Community Safety Partnership.

At the meeting audience members put questions to the panel on a range of issues including confidence in policing, educating young people about the dangers of knife crime and gangs, shoplifting in Rayleigh High Street and police visibility.

This meeting was the latest in the PFCC’s schedule of public meetings which sees the PFCC visit each of the 14 districts in Essex to hear first-hand about fire and rescue service, policing and community safety issues.

The next PFCC public meeting will be held in Basildon district on Monday 12th February 2024 from 7 to 8pm at The Wick Community Centre, Silva Island Way, Salcott Crescent, Wickford SS12 9NR.

All residents of Basildon District are invited to attend and give their views on policing, fire and rescue services and community safety to Roger Hirst, PFCC, and a panel consisting of District Commander Chief Insp Daniel McHugh of Essex Police, Jason Gould, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Basildon Station Manager and Julie Long, Basildon Community Safety Manager.
