PCC heads to Southend for next public roadshow

RESIDENTS in Southend can raise their crime and policing-related concerns with the Police and Crime Commissioner at his latest public roadshow.

Nick Alston, PCC for Essex, will be meeting members of the public at the Royals Shopping Centre on Thursday January 7 from 11am to 3pm.

The PCC will be on hand to listen to residents and answer their questions as he hosts the second of his new roadshows.

The roadshows, which are in support of the PCC’s regular public meetings, aim to offer a less formal and more relaxed environment for people to discuss any concerns. They are also held in busy locations so people can pop along whilst they are already out and about.

Mr Alston said: “If you care about policing or want to raise any concerns or questions please pop along and see me.

“I am looking forward to visiting Southend and I am extremely grateful to the staff at the Royals Shopping Centre for hosting this event.”

Dawn Jeakings, manger of the Royal Shopping Centre, added: “We are very pleased to welcome the Essex Police and Crime Commissioner to The Royals Shopping Centre.

“We always like to think that The Royals is far more than a shopping centre, it is also a hub for local community activity so we are pleased to be able to offer the PCC a venue to meet members of the public and answer their questions.”

Mr Alston will be in the central atrium on the ground floor of the shopping centre which is on Southend High Street.
