Braintree residents to have their say at PCC’s next public meeting

Everyone is welcome to raise their crime and policing-related concerns and questions with the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex. Nick Alston is hosting his next public meeting to discuss local crime and community safety issues in Braintree.

The public meeting starts at 6.30pm on Thursday July 9, 2015, and is being held at the Town Hall in Market Square, Braintree. Crime trends and figures for the area will be discussed as well as other key issues of concern.

A briefing document containing details on crime trends in Braintree district, which will be discussed at the meeting, is now available to view:

Members of the public can ask their questions of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, and Braintree’s District Commander Chief Insp Richard Melton, who will speak about the actions being taken by local officers to keep the area safe.

Nick Alston said: “I encourage everyone who lives in the Braintree area to come along to the meeting and raise the issues that matter to them around crime, policing and community safety.
“If you care about keeping Braintree safe, please come along to the meeting and be part of the debate.”

The public meeting is scheduled for:

Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Thursday July 9
Location: Town Hall, Market Place, Braintree, CM7 3YG

People who do not want to raise issues or concerns publicly at the meeting, can do so privately in a one to one surgery with the PCC directly ahead of the meeting.

To ensure the smooth running of the surgeries, these are run on an appointment-only basis. Any member of the public who would like a one to one with Nick Alston in the late afternoon of July 9 can contact the PCC office directly on 01245 291600 or use the online booking form on the PCC website here.
