Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex says the Government’s pledge for an additional £19 million to tackle domestic abuse across England and Wales is good news.
He said: “Breaking the cycle of domestic abuse is one of the priorities in our Police and Crime Plan. “Enabling survivors to rebuild their lives with support and advice, bringing offenders to justice and encouraging perpetrators to change their behaviour is so important. Extra funding from the Government to help us to do this will be very welcome.”
