Roger responds after police officer injured during Just Stop Oil protests

Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: "It is unacceptable to put officers, who work hard to keep us all safe, at risk. “These protesters need to take responsibility for the harm they are doing. We live in a democracy, their voices can be and are heard, but there is no excuse for putting people at risk of immediate harm as they are doing. "It is totally unacceptable that an Essex Police officer has been hurt today while trying to protect the public, yet protestors continue to act in a way that puts themselves, officers and other emergency services in danger. “My thoughts are with the officer, their family, colleagues and all those who are still working hard to protect our county."
