Braintree Public Meeting 22nd November 2023

Posted 15th November 2023

Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner’s Braintree Public Meeting Wednesday 22nd November 2023

Residents and businesses from across the whole of Braintree district are invited to find out more about crime and community safety in the district at a public meeting hosted by Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to put their questions and concerns to a panel of experts.

The meeting will take place at Braintree Town Hall, Fairfield Road, Braintree, CM7 3YG on Wednesday 22nd November from 7pm to 8pm and all residents of Braintree district, including people who live in Halstead and Witham and surrounding areas, are invited.

Mr Hirst will be joined on the panel by Chief Inspector Martin Richards of Essex Police, Cllr Mary Cunningham, Chair of Braintree Community Safety Partnership (CSP), and Group Manager Steve Wintrip of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

Roger Hirst said: “Our public meetings are a great way to hear directly from local communities about any concerns they might have or issues they are experiencing.”

“The meetings are also a great opportunity for us to brief residents on how we are working together with a range of partners to achieve the priorities in both our Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.

“We will be updating attendees on the work being done around speeding motorists in rural locations and the extra investment in tackling anti-social behaviour in towns.

“Essex County Fire and Rescue Service will also be able to provide updates on their work in the area including the excellent prevention work they are doing to reduce the risk of harm.”

Attendees at the meeting can also learn more about current crime initiatives in the Braintree district.
