Last week, Nick Alston spent half an hour with Gateway 97.8 radio show host, Yvonne Williams.

Yvonne pressed Nick on many hot topics including the introduction of part-night street lighting. The PCC promised to keep a watching brief and ensure that evidence was gathered to assess the impact of the County Council’s decision.
Since his election, Nick has held three public meetings involving the Basildon policing District Commander and the Community Safety Partnership, with the most recent one taking place on February 18, 2014. A note of some of the issues raised at that meeting and the answers given can be seen here:
