“As Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, I am committed to providing details of all items of police expenditure over £500 in an open and transparent manner, on a monthly basis. However, I am also committed to protecting our communities, and ensuring that ongoing investigations, investigative methods, intelligence and specific operational activities are not compromised.
“Essex Police is in the middle of a major changeover from one financial reporting system to another. Historically, this information was neither reported to nor published by the former Police Authority. I have ensured that, going forward, it will be possible to generate monthly reports. These reports will then be published on our website, once they have been analysed to ensure that they do not contain information which should be protected from disclosure.”
Please see below the list of expenditure exceeding £500. The Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable are satisfied that this expenditure does provide good value for money as all contracts, tenders and purchases follow a rigorous tendering procedure, which complies with the Police and Crime Commissioners Financial Regulations. The Financial Regulations can be viewed on our publications page.
The expense is defined by reference to the general group it falls within. Further detail of the reasons included in each group can be found in the document here.
