IPCC investigation into death following arrest on Canvey Island

Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said:

“The death of Mr Steve Bore in Canvey in the early hours of Sunday morning is deeply sad.  I extend my sincere condolences to Mr Bore’s family and friends at this most difficult time. 

“This is a distressing incident, which is rightly the subject of an independent investigation by the IPCC.  I will be closely following the progress of that investigation and its findings.

“As you would expect, I have received an initial account from Essex Police.  My understanding is that officers worked strenuously in difficult circumstances to attempt to save Mr Bore’s life, and my thoughts are also with those officers.”
