Posted Wednesday 2nd October 2024

A community safety briefing, jointly hosted by the Essex Association of Local Councils (EALC) and the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC), will be taking place in December.

The all-day event is specifically designed for parish and town councillors, offering a valuable opportunity to discuss critical crime prevention initiatives and volunteering opportunities, share best practices, and strengthen collective efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our Essex communities.

The event will be held on Tuesday 3rd December at Channels, Pratts Farm Lane East, Chelmsford CM3 3PT. Registration will take place at 9.30am, and the day will start at 10am, drawing to a close at 4pm.

All parish and town councillors in Essex are invited to attend this informative and important event.

Among the organisations presenting at the event will be Essex Police, East of England Ambulance Service, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Restorative and Mediation Service, Independent Custody Visiting Scheme, Essex County Council, PFCCs Safer Streets Lead, and members of the Multi Agency Approach to Fraud. There will also be stalls for networking and learning opportunities, such as Community Speed Watch, Cybercrime, Watch Groups and Essex Police’s Rural Crime team.

Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, the Chief Constable BJ Harrington and the Chief Fire Officer Rick Hylton will be speaking and attending the community safety briefing and there will be plenty of time for networking and meeting other town and parish councillors on the day.
