Come and have your say at PCC public meeting in Tendring

PEOPLE living in Tendring have the chance to raise their crime and policing-related concerns and questions with the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Essex.

PCC Nick Alston is hosting his next public meeting to discuss local crime and community safety issues in Tendring.

The public meeting starts at 6.30pm on Thursday December 18, 2014 and is being held at the Frinton Community Association and there will be plenty of time for people to ask their questions.

Ahead of the meeting, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, the PCC will also be hosting one-to-one surgeries. Residents are able to come along to these and discuss any issues individually with the PCC which they might not want to raise at the public meeting.

People wishing to book a surgery appointment should do so in advance and can do so via the following link https://www.essex.pfcc.police.uk/pcc-surgeries/.

Topics for discussion at the public meeting will include: an overview of all crime in the Tendring district focusing on robbery, burglary and theft of motor vehicles; PCSOs, police visibility and the new local community meeting structure; and violent crime.

A public briefing document, containing information about the latest reported crime figures and trends for the area can now be read at the link below and will also be available at the public meeting:

Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: “I encourage everyone who lives in the Tendring area to come along to the meeting and raise the issues that matter to them around crime and policing.”

They will help the PCC explore the facts around crime in the area and explain the actions being taken by local officers to keep Tendring safe. Everyone in the audience will have time to ask questions of the PCC and police.

Nick Alston added: “If you care about keeping Tendring safe, please come along to the meeting and be part of the debate.”
