Do you have a question for the PCC or Chief Constable?

RESIDENTS living in Epping, Loughton and the wider area have the chance to raise their concerns and questions about policing in the county at the next Essex Police Challenge event.

The event, which was devised by Essex Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Nick Alston, aims to give members of the public the chance to raise any concerns about policing and crime in Essex with the PCC and the county’s Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh.
It forms a crucial part of the PCC’s role in scrutinising the work of police and holding the force to account.
The next event will take place in Loughton on Tuesday June 9.
It will see the Chief Constable give an update on the performance of Essex Police. Other topics on the agenda include the night-time economy in the district, travelling criminality and the introduction of the new collaborative police IT system called Athena and how it will assist police in the county. There will also be plenty of time for the audience to ask questions directly of the Chief Constable and PCC.
Mr Alston said: “The Essex Police Challenge gives the public a unique opportunity to pose questions to both myself and the Chief Constable about crime and policing in their neighbourhood and county.
“They will also have the chance to see me publicly scrutinise the performance and work of Essex Police –a fundamental and key part of my role.
“I would urge everyone to submit questions and attend to see democracy and scrutiny in local policing in action.”
Everyone is invited to attend the Essex Police Challenge event which starts at 7.30pm and ends at 9.30pm at Epping Forest College, Borders Lane, Loughton, IG10 3SA.
To submit a question for the PCC and/or Chief Constable write to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner at 3 Hoffmanns Way, Chelmsford, Essex , CM1 1GU or alternatively email: [email protected]

Nick Alston will aim to ensure that as many questions are possible are answered during the event.
The Essex Police Challenge events are recorded, and a complete video of each meeting is placed on our website here.
