Have your say in Castle Point

The Police and Crime Commissioner will host his next public meeting to discuss local crime and community safety issues in Canvey.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday September 10.  There will be briefings and plenty of time for questions about crime trends in Castle Point, cruising and Roscommon Way, what the new local policing plans will mean for Castle Point, and the Essex Police emergency response to recent critical incidents in Canvey.

CASTLE POINT PCC PUBLIC MEETING BRIEFING DOCUMENT 100914

A public briefing document, containing information about the new policing model in the Castle Point district, latest reported crime figures for the area and crime trends can now be read at the link below and will also be available at the public meeting.

Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: “I encourage everyone who lives in Canvey or anywhere in the Castle Point District to come along to the meeting and raise the issues that matter to them around crime and policing. We’ll also be discussing what the new local policing plans recently announced by the Chief Constable will mean for Castle Point.

As well as the PCC, the Essex Police district commander for Castle Point and Rochford, and representatives from the Community Safety Partnership will also be in attendance. They will help the PCC explore the facts around crime trends and give briefings on what actions are being taken by local officers. The PCC will ask questions of both police and the council and talk about work being done in the area to drive down crime and improve safety.

The event is scheduled for:

Canvey

Time: 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday September 10.

Location: The Paddocks, Long Road, Canvey island, Essex, SS8 0JA

Nick Alston added: “If people care about keeping their streets safe, then come along to the meeting and be part of the debate.”
