Watch the first Essex Police Challenge

The Essex Police Challenge is a key part of how Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, holds the Chief Constable of Essex and his senior team to account on behalf of the people of our county.

The Essex Police Challenge is a new initiative, designed to allow scrutiny of the Chief Constable to take place in public, in an open and transparent fashion informed by the facts.  The plan is to hold four meetings a year.  If you want to watch the recording of the first Essex Police Challenge, which was held on Monday August 5, 2013, please click on the video below.

Subjects discussed at the first event included crime trends and police performance, improving road safety and increasing efficiency in policing.  Several questions submitted by members of the public were also asked by the Police and Crime Commissioner.
