Communications and Engagement Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, creative Communication and Engagement Manager to join a new team working for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex.

As an experienced, senior communications professional you will lead on a wide range of projects and initiatives that directly impact policing and public safety in Essex. You’ll need a broad understanding of communication and engagement practices and the ability to pull together a wide range of activity to create a meaningful impact.

We want to make a difference for the people of Essex, at a time when the communication and media landscape is changing rapidly. To achieve this we are building a new team with a broad range of experience and the ability to work with a wide range of partners.

The successful candidate will need to be able to think creatively, create engaging content and work collaboratively with the Communication and Engagement Team and with our wider partners including Essex Police Communications Team, Community Safety Partnerships and District Councils.

As part of a small team, the successful candidate will be required to work effectively with senior leaders from the Police, District Councils, Community Groups and the third sector as well as directly engage with individuals and groups in challenging or hard to reach communities.

This role is about ensuring that we hear and communicate with a wide range of communities from across Essex. Our work will contribute to building confidence in the Criminal Justice System more broadly and in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Essex Police more specifically.

We expect a lot from our team but in return we’ll offer the successful candidate the opportunity to grow and develop in an exciting and fast paced environment.

Performance and Scrutiny Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Office for the Police Crime Commissioner for Essex.

We are looking for a high performing performance and scrutiny officer to support the work within our performance and scrutiny function. The successful candidate will have skills in performance analysis and scrutiny, with some knowledge of handling complaints.

In addition, they will enjoy working in a fast paced and outward facing team, working alongside partners from a range of agencies including police, criminal justice services and the community sector.
